Our gourmet coffees are roasted using an air roasting process (similar to a gigantic popcorn popper). In air roasting, the outer skin of the coffee bean (the chaff) is blown away from the beans as they are suspended in a stream of super-heated air.
This prevents the roasted beans from being mixed with the burned chaff and avoids the bitter, burnt taste so commonly found in the less complicated drum roasting technique.
For optimal freshness, our coffee comes to us within 48 hours of leaving the air roasters. This produces a superior product that supermarket chains and other coffee houses simply cannot match.
